About Us
Meet the Team
Melinda Beavers, MD PhD
Dr Beavers earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, and is still a proud Georgia Dawg! Her medical doctorate and doctorate of philosophy are from the Medical College of Georgia, now part of Augusta University. Dr Beavers obtained a PhD in Physiology, researching blood pressure in children with a heart defect, along with her mentors Dr Greg Harshfield, PhD and Dr Bill Lutin, MD PhD. Dr Beavers entered medical school with plans to study Geriatrics, but fell in love with the science of child development - physically and cognitively. Her true nerd comes out when she has a chance to talk about the transition from 1 cell to a healthy baby, and on to a functional adult! But don't get her started unless you have a few hours and a dictionary.
Besides extra years of school, Dr Beavers has had a few other fun experiences in her life. After graduating from college, and before starting medical school, Dr Beavers joined Teach For America. She had many amazing and humbling experiences as a teacher in Warren County, NC. Dr Beavers also met her amazing husband, a professional high school teacher. During their 7-year stay in Augusta, GA for medical and graduate school, they grew their family with 3 wonderful children.
Dr Beavers fondly remembers days when she and her husband travelled most weekends; when she ran half marathons; when she played the piano and sang in the choir. She still makes time for music and exercise; it just looks a little different at this stage of life. For now she is content with building her own independent pediatric practice - Bloom Pediatric Partners, in Angier - and sharing most of her free time with her family.
Brittany Stewart, CMA
Brittany Stewart earned her Associate Degree of Science in Medical Assisting from Miller-Motte College in 2014. After passing her AMT exam to become a Registered Medical Assistant she went right into Pediatrics. She tried Family medicine for a few months but, her heart was not as content.
Brittany has 3 amazing daughters (11, 8, 3). In her free time she enjoys reading, coloring, some outdoors activities, and browsing Amazon unnecessarily.

Families Matter
Families happen in many ways: marriage, birth, adoption, and shared experience are just some of the ways we join a family.
At Bloom, we believe…
We All Grow
Children are unique and fabulous beings that grow before our eyes, like a seedling sprouting from the ground. And kids aren’t the only ones who grow: the whole family continues to grow together.
Knowledge is Power
When a caregiver knows and understands more about their child, the job of parenting - alone or in a team - starts to feel more successful. Maybe not easier, but definitely more successful.
